INSURANCE

Do You Need Insurance?

Whether you need insurance for an electric bike depends on the bike’s specifications, how it is classified under the law where you ride, and the requirements of your state or local jurisdiction.
Many standard low-speed electric bicycles do not require separate liability insurance in the same way that a car or motorcycle does. However, laws vary. A faster or modified electric bike may be treated differently from a standard e-bike and may be subject to additional requirements, such as registration, licensing, minimum insurance, or equipment rules.
Before riding, check the current requirements in the state and local area where you plan to use your RONSTER BIKES e-bike. Do not rely on a general classification alone, especially if the bike has been modified or can exceed the manufacturer’s original speed or power specifications.

What E-Bike Insurance May Cover

Depending on the policy, e-bike insurance may provide one or more of the following types of protection:
•Liability coverage: May help cover injury to another person or damage to another person’s property when you are legally responsible.
•Theft protection: May help cover the loss of the e-bike after a covered theft, subject to the policy’s conditions, deductible, security requirements, and coverage limit.
•Accidental damage: May help pay for repair or replacement after a covered accident or other covered event.
•Medical payments or accident coverage: May help with certain medical expenses, depending on the policy and the insurer.
•Roadside or recovery assistance: May be available under some specialty policies or service plans.
Coverage, exclusions, deductibles, claim limits, required safety equipment, and eligibility requirements vary by insurer. Read the complete policy documents before purchasing coverage.

Homeowners and Renters Insurance

Your homeowners or renters insurance may provide some coverage for an e-bike, but coverage is not guaranteed and may be limited. The policy may exclude certain types of e-bikes, restrict coverage while riding, limit theft protection, apply a deductible, or provide less coverage than the bike’s replacement cost.
Contact your insurance company or licensed agent before relying on a homeowners or renters policy. Ask specifically whether it covers theft, accidental damage, liability, battery damage, transportation, storage, and riding outside the home.

How Much Does E-Bike Insurance Cost?

The cost of coverage depends on the e-bike’s value, speed and specifications, the rider’s location, intended use, coverage limits, deductible, claims history, security requirements, and the insurer’s underwriting rules.
Because premiums vary significantly, RONSTER BIKES should not publish fixed insurance prices unless those prices are supplied by a licensed insurance provider and are currently available to eligible U.S. customers. Customers should request a current quote and compare the coverage, exclusions, deductible, and claims process rather than choosing a policy based only on price.

Before You Ride

Before operating your RONSTER BIKES e-bike, review the product specifications, follow the owner’s manual and safety instructions, use appropriate protective equipment, secure the bike properly, and confirm the rules that apply where you ride.
If the e-bike is modified to increase speed or power, its legal classification and insurance requirements may change. Modifications may also affect warranty coverage, product safety, and eligibility for insurance.

Insurance Claims and Documentation

Keep your purchase receipt, order confirmation, serial number, photographs, product specifications, and maintenance records in a secure location. These documents may help verify ownership and value if you need to make a claim.
If your e-bike is stolen or damaged, contact the insurer promptly and follow the insurer’s claim instructions. A police report may be required for theft claims. RONSTER BIKES cannot approve, deny, or guarantee an insurance claim because coverage decisions are made by the insurance provider under the policy contract.

RONSTER BIKES Insurance Assistance

RONSTER BIKES does not provide insurance coverage unless expressly stated in writing. We may provide general information about insurance options or refer customers to a licensed insurance professional when an approved referral arrangement is available.
Any insurance quote, application, policy, coverage decision, or claim must be handled directly by the licensed insurance provider. RONSTER BIKES does not guarantee that a customer will qualify for coverage or that a policy will cover a particular loss.

Helmet & Safety Requirements

RONSTER BIKES recommends that every rider wear a properly fitted helmet on every ride, regardless of the rider’s age, speed, route, or whether a helmet is legally required. Helmet laws and equipment requirements vary by state, city, rider age, e-bike classification, and riding location.
This information is general safety guidance for customers in the United States. It is not a substitute for checking the current laws where you ride.

Helmet Requirements by E-Bike Type

What This Means for U.S. Riders

A standard e-bike may be regulated differently from a moped, scooter, or motorcycle. The applicable requirements depend on the bike’s motor power, maximum assisted speed, throttle or pedal-assist configuration, equipment, and the laws of the state or local area where it is operated.
A faster e-bike or a bike modified to exceed the manufacturer’s original specifications may no longer qualify as a standard low-speed electric bicycle. It may be subject to additional rules, including a different helmet standard, licensing, registration, insurance, or restricted riding locations.
Do not assume that a helmet requirement is the same in every state. Check the current requirements before riding, especially when using the e-bike on public roads, shared-use paths, or in another state.

Choosing the Right Helmet

Choose a helmet that is appropriate for the type of riding and speed of your e-bike. For a standard bicycle-style e-bike, use a helmet that complies with the applicable U.S. bicycle-helmet safety requirements. For a higher-speed or motorcycle-type vehicle, a bicycle helmet may not provide the required protection or satisfy local law; use the helmet standard required for that vehicle.
Do not use a helmet that has been involved in a crash, shows cracks or other damage, has missing parts, or no longer fits securely. Replace the helmet according to the manufacturer’s instructions and after any significant impact.

How to Fit Your Helmet Correctly

A helmet should sit level on your head and low on your forehead, approximately one or two finger-widths above your eyebrows. Adjust the side straps so they form a “V” shape under and slightly in front of your ears. The chin strap should be snug enough to keep the helmet secure without causing discomfort.
Before each ride, check that the helmet does not move significantly when you shake your head or open your mouth. A helmet that is too loose, tilted backward, or incorrectly fastened may not provide the intended protection.

Essential Riding Safety Practices

Before riding, check the tires, brakes, chain or drivetrain, lights, reflectors, throttle, pedal-assist controls, battery connection, and other required equipment. Do not ride if an important safety component is damaged or not working properly.
Ride in a predictable manner, obey traffic signs and signals, follow the direction of traffic, use designated bike lanes when available and permitted, and yield according to the rules that apply where you ride. Maintain a safe speed for the road, path, weather, traffic, visibility, and riding conditions.
Wear bright or reflective clothing in low-light conditions and use the required lights and reflectors. Keep both hands available for control whenever possible, remain alert, avoid distractions, and do not operate an e-bike while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or medication.

Battery and Charging Safety

Use only the charger and battery approved for your RONSTER BIKES model. Do not use a damaged, swollen, leaking, overheated, or modified battery. Stop using the battery and contact qualified support if it produces an unusual smell, smoke, excessive heat, or other warning signs.
Charge the battery in a dry, ventilated location away from flammable materials. Do not charge it while sleeping or leave it unattended for extended periods. Follow the product manual for storage, charging, transportation, and disposal instructions.

Riding Conditions and Passengers

Use the e-bike only on surfaces and in conditions appropriate for the model. Avoid riding through deep water, severe weather, loose terrain, or other conditions that may exceed the product’s design limits unless the owner’s manual expressly permits it.
Do not carry a passenger, child, or load unless the specific RONSTER BIKES model is designed and approved for that use and the applicable accessories are correctly installed. Stay within the manufacturer’s stated weight limits.

Insurance and Protection

Insurance is not automatically required for every e-bike in the United States, but requirements may apply depending on the bike’s specifications, modifications, location, and legal classification. Separate insurance may also be useful for theft, accidental damage, liability, or other risks.
Homeowners or renters insurance may provide limited coverage, but exclusions, deductibles, coverage limits, and riding restrictions may apply. Contact a licensed insurance professional to confirm whether your policy covers the e-bike, battery, theft, accidental damage, liability, and use away from your home.
RONSTER BIKES does not guarantee that an insurance policy will cover a particular loss. Coverage decisions are made by the insurance provider under the terms of the applicable policy.

RONSTER BIKES Safety Recommendation

Always wear a properly fitted helmet, follow the owner’s manual, obey applicable laws, inspect the e-bike before each ride, and choose riding conditions appropriate for your experience and the product. Your safety is more important than convenience or speed.
