ToggleMCO and Certificate of Origin Information
What Is an MCO and Why Does It Matter?
A Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin, often called an MCO or MSO, is an original document used for certain vehicles to identify the manufacturer, vehicle details, and initial ownership documentation. Whether an MCO is issued, required, or accepted depends on the product type and the requirements of the state or local authority where the vehicle is titled or registered.
For a standard consumer electric bicycle, an MCO may not be required or issued in the same way it is for a titled motor vehicle. RONSTER BIKES will provide the documentation that applies to the product and transaction, such as an order confirmation, sales receipt, serial-number record, warranty documentation, certificate of origin, or other ownership documents when applicable.
Does Every RONSTER BIKES Product Come with an MCO?
Not every electric bike is required to have an MCO. Documentation depends on the model’s design, legal classification, intended use, vehicle identification information, and the requirements of the applicable state or local authority.
If a specific RONSTER BIKES model is sold as a titled or registrable motor vehicle, the applicable manufacturer or authorized distributor may provide an MCO or MSO when required. If the product is sold as a consumer bicycle that is not titled as a motor vehicle, the standard proof of purchase and product-identification documents may be the appropriate records instead.
Before publishing a promise that every product includes an MCO, RONSTER BIKES should confirm the document issued for each model and the states in which it is accepted.
What Information May Be Included?
Depending on the document and product type, ownership or product documentation may include the model name, brand, serial number, vehicle identification number when applicable, manufacturing information, product specifications, purchase date, seller information, and purchaser information.
The sales receipt or order confirmation may also provide important information for warranty service, customer support, returns, insurance, resale, or registration inquiries. Keep all documents together with the product records.
Can the Documentation Be Used for Warranty Claims?
Proof of purchase and product-identification information may be required for a warranty claim or service request. RONSTER BIKES may ask for the order number, sales receipt, serial number, photographs, service records, and other information needed to verify the purchase and assess the claim.
An MCO, MSO, certificate of origin, receipt, or other document does not by itself guarantee warranty coverage. Warranty eligibility is determined under the applicable RONSTER BIKES warranty terms.
Is an MCO Required for Shipping?
For ordinary domestic delivery within the United States, an MCO is not automatically required for every consumer electric bicycle. Additional documents may be required for a product that is classified as a motor vehicle, is being shipped to a special destination, or is subject to transportation, registration, or import requirements.
Because this website is intended for U.S. customers, RONSTER BIKES should not promise that an MCO will resolve customs or international-shipping requirements. Customers shipping or transporting a vehicle across borders are responsible for confirming the documentation required by the destination country, carrier, and applicable authorities.
Can the Documentation Be Used for Registration?
An MCO or MSO may be requested by a state Department of Motor Vehicles when a vehicle must be titled or registered. However, an MCO is not a substitute for a title, registration, license, insurance, safety inspection, or other requirement unless the relevant authority expressly accepts it for that purpose.
Title and registration requirements are determined by the state or jurisdiction. RONSTER BIKES cannot guarantee that a particular document will be accepted for registration, street use, or conversion to a different vehicle classification.
Customers should contact the applicable state or local authority before purchasing when registration, title, or public-road use is important to their intended use.
Can the Documentation Help with Resale?
A sales receipt, serial-number record, warranty record, and any applicable certificate of origin can help demonstrate the product’s purchase history and identity when an e-bike is resold. These documents may help a prospective buyer verify the model, serial number, ownership history, and remaining warranty eligibility.
Documentation does not guarantee a resale price, legal ownership, title status, or transfer of warranty. The seller and buyer should complete any bill of sale or transfer documents required by applicable law.
What If You Lose Your Documentation?
Contact the RONSTER BIKES support team using the official customer-service contact information. Depending on the document and the records available, we may be able to provide a duplicate receipt, order record, serial-number confirmation, warranty record, or other replacement documentation.
RONSTER BIKES may require proof of identity, proof of purchase, the original order information, or other details before releasing replacement documentation. Replacement documents may not be identical to an original MCO or MSO and may not be accepted by every state authority.
How Should You Store Your Documentation?
Keep your sales receipt, order confirmation, serial number, warranty information, and any applicable certificate of origin in a safe, dry location. Store a digital backup in a secure location and avoid publicly sharing documents that contain personal information.
You may need these records for warranty service, insurance, theft reports, resale, maintenance, registration inquiries, or customer support.
Is There an Additional Cost?
Standard order and product documentation should be provided according to the product and purchase terms. If a customer requests a replacement document, certification, notarization, special mailing service, or other administrative service, a fee may apply if disclosed and permitted by law.
Before publishing this section, RONSTER BIKES should confirm which documents are included with each model and whether any replacement-document fee applies.
How Long Is the Documentation Valid?
An MCO or MSO is an original ownership document used for certain vehicle transactions and may be surrendered when a state title is issued. It should not automatically be described as a permanent certificate of ownership or as a guarantee that the document will remain valid for the lifetime of the product.
The sales receipt, warranty record, serial-number record, title, registration, and other documents may have different purposes and retention periods. Keep them for as long as you own the product and for as long as required by the applicable warranty, insurance, resale, or registration process.
